Paralysed

So close, yet so far.
From you, nothing would keep me barred.
But being this distance is really hard,
Leaving my heart tattered in shards.

All I want is to be with you.
Mileage denies us, true.
So, I'll sit in my bedroom and slowly stew.
You know I can't wait 'til time is through.

When you're hurt or need me there.
I want to be, to show I care.
But, as always, life isn't fair.
And this minor parting is something we'll bare.

But imagine what it will be like when distance fails.
We, together, shall drink from 'that' sacred grail.
Granted eternal life with you, another ship to sail.
Two lives lived on an unimaginable scale.

I can't wait to stare into your beautiful eyes.
Finally attaining the one thing, on which I spied.
And, although our acquainting was riddled with lies.
Until, I see you, I'm paralysed.
