Light
I though all I could do was fight,
I though only dark dreams appeared at night,
I thought life was too hard,
I thought everyone wanted me barred,
I thought power would save me,
I thought I had to protect me,
I thought sadness was life,
I thought protection was a knife,
I thought happiness was fake,
I thought I couldn't break,
I thought time was infinite,
I thought true love was singing it,
I saw much blood shed,
While others rest in bed,
I thought pain was true,
But then I met you.
I felt anger for years,
I was brought up to kill deers,
I was taught to repress fears,
I listened to screams with my ears,
I fired weapons for kicks,
On authorities, played tricks,
Played hell as a child,
Put away for being wild,
Destruction was all I knew,
But then I saw you,
You broke my barriers,
Stopped me playing with carriers,
And although, my soul, I would sell,
I saw your light at the end of the tunnel.
