I see you

I see you hiding there in the shadows.
Waiting for the time to strike.
Shame. You can't have a go.
I'll drop you as I have done so many of your like.

I see you shaking and hoping against hope.
You have nothing to fear.
If you are just and have done no wrong.
When you need help, I'll be near.

I see you raising your hand.
You'll never do it again.
How can you? With broken arms?
You'll wish it were death you feigned.

I see you, crying for mercy.
Maybe you'll get it.
But not from me.
I'll leave you decomposing in a pit.

I see you, alone and scared.
Need a hand? Reach out.
You'll find me there, ready to blast.
There'll be no more need to shout.

I see you, twirling the knife.
You better be good. You'll have to be.
'cause I know.
It won't be my blood you see.

I see you staring.
Careful how strong that stare is.
I'll blow your body apart.
You'll taste death's kiss.

I see you, against the odds.
I'm here to even it up.
With me, you'll never worry.
No one will dare give you a second look.

I see you, grinding your teeth.
"You have one shot!" You'll hear me call.
If you don't make it a good one.
Your mind will be a stain on the wall.

So, if you need help and are just.
You are safe and can sleep deeply in bed.
But if you are wrong and wish to sin.
Your next home's a body bag, 'cause I'll make you dead.

((I just had to write this after watching "TV's top ten hardmen." Much respect to the morals they follow.))
