I promised I would never lie to you me dear sweet angel.
Yet I have committed a crime and gone against my word.
But don't cry yet. Let me explain. Just hear me out.
What I lied about, you may just forgive.

I said I wouldn't miss you until I was gone and on my way.
I lied. I missed you all through the night. Yeah, that's right.
All the time you held me close and I said you shouldn't cry.
I was missing you then, and will do, until my life, I can finally live.

I missed you the night before. Knowing I was leaving.
My heart felt so far away even thought you held it in your hand.
I missed your beautiful face as I stared deeply into your eyes.
Felt my blood dripping away, like flour through a sieve.

I miss you now and will miss you again.
Until I see you, I don't know how I can even see straight.
The tears in my eyes are inconsolable by anyone but you.
So, until our next meet, I'll quiver.
