Fanatic
I
stare in disbelief. How in the hell did she do that?
How can I compete with such excellence?
With her words, she makes me shiver in such a way; I feel the very centre of my darkened core ripple with colour.
Impressed? Damn, right! Can’t you see the talent?
The words interlace and lock like a flawless jigsaw.
The
superior design shows the effort to which I can only aspire.
Words with power, grace, strength and finesse.
I
read and feel like lost child finding a sign in the darkness.
Essence of verbal origin given new definitions.
Never will I deny that this honed artist her honour.
I bow in reverence of her mighty and majestic power.
Yet
never will I doubt my own ability as a challenger.
Never shall I yield without a fight, for the battle, oh the battle.
Verbs, adjectives and more thrown back and forth in rallies.
The dangerous exchange where both win and none lose.
I
can’t help but feel weak, though.
I feel awe struck and unable to continue, just so that I can read.
Ringing echoes define this insane fanaticism with her words.
Trust me when I say, she has incredible skill.
She
is mighty with sword and pen alike with no differentiation.
I will fall through pages and ride the spines from cover to cover.
Worried about her next onslaught? Very much so.
It is only now that I realise, because of my fanaticism.
I
have lost. A fanatic devoid of skill or prowess.
All that needs to be said is obvious if not blatant.
You have surpassed me in writing skill, Siluna. I will no longer be a challenge for you. Your writing is far too powerful for me to even create a defence. I bow to you. To the victor, the spoils. Go, make a career out of writing. It will be very rewarding for you.
((Siluna, your words are an inspiration. I now see why I feel belittled by your words. It’s because you are the better poet. You have far more talent that I can ever have. Don’t waste it, ‘cause it’ll be a damned shame if you do :D Good luck in whatever career you chose, pray it be writing. Your friend – Luke Dalton (A.k.a. Heartless) Btw, your poems were very impressive, if you haven’t guessed. :P))
