Dust and Sand

We begin this tale in a barron land,
Where all we do is demand.

I was alone and scared in this world,
Everyone said my future was pearled.

I didn't want myself to see,
What should become of me.

I listen to my own little band,
Gently humming to the baby grand.

I tried to stay far away from this,
I tried to ignore life's harsh kiss.

It kept coming back into my life,
Someone was twisting the knife.

But now that's over, and I am me,
I realise human isn't what I want to be.

I want to aspire and gain some wings,
So that I can hear my sweet angel sing.

Now that I hold my fair angel's hand.
It dawned on me, that I'm just dust and sand.
