A Single Seed
A single seed falls from a tree.
It lands on fertile ground.
It has time to grow.
There's space all around.
First, a shoot and then a flower.
It grows with time and patience.
In a few years it's fully grown.
It stands there in such innocence.
What if I said that seed was a conversation?
What if I said that seed was our meeting?
It's growing strong.
Unlike the rainforest, this seed's not competing.
So gaze at our future.
This majestic tree.
Two names are carved in the bark.
You and me.
Love will be our leaves.
And children our seeds.
May their love grow, too.
And let us be together, wherever life leads.
Let us build branches.
Thick and strong.
For, I know, like this tree.
Our love will last long.
One can last for hundreds of years.
Quite impressive for a tree.
But our love will last longer.
It will be eternal, just you wait and see.
I love you, my angel.
Let us grow.
For those who said it wouldn't last...
Ha! What would they know?!
Me and you, a perfect pair.
Just like soul mates.
Eternally bound.
Two binding fates.
So, here's to our future.
Let this tree live on.
And let our love too,
To the tune of our song.
((As always, this one is dedicated to the beautiful angel who inspires nearly every piece of writing I have done in a damned long time. I love you my beautiful princess.))
